Poland launches third 'Summer with the Army' recruitment program

The Military Recruitment Centre in Suwałki announced the start of the third edition of the "Wakacje z wojskiem" (Summer with the Army) program. It offers voluntary, free 27‑day military training for volunteers aged 18‑35, with three turns beginning 8 June and running through mid‑September. The program is held in roughly 90 locations across Poland and lets participants choose among land, armored, airborne, missile and naval units. Each trainee receives a gross stipend of about 6 000 zł, together with accommodation, meals, uniform, medical care and insurance. The initiative targets high‑school graduates, university students and other young people seeking an alternative to seasonal work, and it can serve as a first step toward reserve service or a professional military career.

The Ministry of Defence emphasizes that volunteers can combine the training with their summer plans and that the stipend and full support aim to attract a wide pool of candidates. Participation is open to any Polish citizen who has reached the age of 18, and the program provides a practical introduction to military tactics, firearms handling, field survival, hand‑to‑hand combat and equipment operation.
