Poland lowers gasoline max price ahead of long weekend

Poland’s Ministry of Energy announced new maximum fuel prices that take effect on Thursday, 4 June, just before the long weekend. The cap for 95‑octane gasoline is set at 5.94 zł per litre and for 98‑octane at 6.52 zł, while the diesel price remains unchanged at 6.40 zł. The daily bulletin also warns that selling fuel above the limits can result in fines up to 1 million zł and that the National Revenue Administration will conduct checks.

The imminent price change prompted a noticeable surge of motorists at service stations, many choosing to fill up before the new rates apply. Authorities also reminded drivers that safe travel begins with proper rest. They urged travelers to plan breaks, use designated rest areas such as MOPs, avoid stopping in emergency lanes, and follow proper procedures in case of vehicle breakdowns, including using emergency lights and moving off the roadway when possible.
