Poland mandates digital business registration and e-invoicing

Poland is implementing significant digital transitions for business administration and taxation. Starting November 1, 2026, applications for the Central Register and Information on Economic Activity (CEIDG) must be submitted exclusively online. Municipal offices will no longer accept paper applications for starting a business or other CEIDG-related matters. To facilitate this, new forms (CEIDG-1, CEIDG-ZS, CEIDG-OP, and CEIDG-OPS) will be introduced on October 14, 2026, via the Biznes.gov.pl portal. Business owners will require digital identity tools such as Profil Zaufany, an e-Dowód, or a qualified electronic signature to complete these processes.

In a related shift toward digitalization, the National e-Invoice System (KSeF) is also impacting small businesses. As of February 2026, all companies must receive invoices through KSeF, with sole proprietorships and small companies required to issue them through the system starting April 1, 2026. Key operational requirements include issuing invoices on the day of creation to avoid offline mode complications and using corrective invoices rather than manual adjustments to ensure compliance with the new electronic standards.
