Poland mandates online business registration starting November 1
Starting November 1, adults in Poland must submit applications for entry into the Central Registration and Information on Business (CEIDG) electronically. Traditional paper forms submitted to municipal offices or via mail will no longer be accepted for new business registrations.
Applicants can use the government portal Biznes.gov.pl, the mObywatel application, or various banking platforms and digital services. While the mObywatel app offers a streamlined process for Polish citizens with an active mDowód and Trusted Profile, other electronic methods remain available for those who do not meet those specific criteria. All electronic applications must be signed digitally using a Trusted Profile, an e-dowód, or a qualified electronic signature.
The only exception to this mandate applies to minors, who may continue to register businesses using traditional paper methods until October 31, 2028.
According to the Ministry of Development and Technology, this digitalization effort aims to reduce administrative burdens by integrating the CEIDG database with other public registries, allowing for automatic data updates. Further digital mandates are expected by November 2028, which will require all changes, suspensions, or terminations of business activities to be conducted exclusively online.
