Poland: Military mobilization regulations and requirements

Under Polish law, military mobilization can be ordered by the President upon the Prime Minister's request in the event of a direct external threat to the state, even before the outbreak of war. Mobilization may be partial or nationwide, depending on the defense needs of the country.

Service obligations apply to citizens aged 18 to 60, while non-commissioned officers and officers are subject to these rules until the end of the year they turn 63. However, mobilization does not automatically call up every person within these age groups; assignments are determined by the needs of the Armed Forces and specific individual qualifications.

The mobilization process utilizes mobilization cards issued during peacetime to designate where and when individuals must report. A red mobilization card indicates an immediate obligation, which in some cases may require an individual to report to their unit within only six hours. Failure to comply with mobilization orders carries criminal liability.
