Poland negotiates grain exports to Egypt
Poland is currently negotiating the sale of grain to the Egyptian market. Małgorzata Gromadzka, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, confirmed ongoing discussions with the Egyptian agency ‘Future of Egypt’ regarding a potential export contract. The Polish government is also maintaining the transit of Ukrainian agricultural products through its territory, though it continues to enforce a ban on direct imports of Ukrainian grain to protect domestic producers.
To prevent irregularities similar to those seen in 2023, the government is implementing strict oversight of Ukrainian grain transit. This monitoring includes the use of the SENT system and GPS tracking. The Ministry of Agriculture aims to ensure that transit does not negatively impact local farmers and grain collection enterprises.
