Poland offers up to 1,500 PLN monthly nursery subsidies

Under the ‘Aktywny Rodzic’ (Active Parent) program, parents in Poland can receive monthly subsidies of up to 1,500 PLN for childcare through the ‘Aktywnie w żłobku’ (Active in Nursery) benefit. This support is intended for children using nursery care, children's clubs, or daily caregivers.

To ensure benefits are paid from the start of care, parents must submit an application to the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) within two months of the child beginning their placement. Late applications will result in benefits being granted only from the month the application was received.

Payments are made directly to the childcare facility rather than the parent. The subsidy amount cannot exceed the actual cost of the child's stay, excluding food costs. Additionally, the monthly fee for the facility must not exceed the statutory limit, which is set at 2,200 PLN until March 31, 2027. Parents are reminded that they can only receive one type of benefit from the ‘Aktywny Rodzic’ program for a single child in any given month.
