Poland plans rebranding of Izera electric vehicle project
Poland's Ministry of Energy is planning a strategic shift for the Electromobility Poland project, which includes moving away from the 'Izera' brand name. Deputy Minister of Energy Piotr Masłowski stated that the name should be used less frequently to facilitate a rebranding of the entire concept. A national competition may be held to select a new brand name that is competitive within the European market.
The project aims to establish an industrial electromobility hub in Jaworzno rather than a simple assembly plant. If negotiations with technological partner Foxconn are successful, construction of the factory is expected to begin in 2027, with the first vehicles projected to roll off the production line by the end of 2029.
In addition to the manufacturing hub, the ministry plans to work on legislative changes this autumn to improve electric vehicle charging infrastructure, specifically targeting heavy transport and multi-family residential buildings.
