Poland plans to purchase 32 additional F-35 fighter jets

Poland plans to expand its fleet of F-35 fighter jets by purchasing an additional 32 aircraft. This move follows an existing 2020 contract for 32 jets valued at $4.6 billion. If the new plan is implemented, Poland will operate a total of 64 F-35 machines.

Deputy Minister of National Defence Cezary Tomczyk confirmed the intention to acquire more aircraft, stating that the decision is based on the quality of the jets rather than politics. The procurement is part of a broader strategic goal to acquire two additional squadrons by 2039.

Poland has already spent $65 billion on equipment and service support from the United States. Tomczyk indicated that the country expects to spend at least an equivalent amount in the coming years, noting that Poland has transitioned from a mere client to a strategic partner of the United States.
