Poland: Polls show migration and institutional responses divide public
Recent polling conducted by United Surveys by IBRiS reveals significant public sentiment regarding migration and the treatment of Ukrainian citizens in Poland.
According to the data, 66.5% of respondents believe that the increasing number of migrants from various regions, including Ukraine, Belarus, Asia, and the Middle East, impacts national security. This sentiment is most pronounced among Konfederacja voters, where 96% expressed such a view.
Regarding the protection of Ukrainian citizens, 50.6% of Poles believe that public institutions, including the police and courts, respond appropriately to acts of aggression and hate speech. However, this assessment is highly polarized by political affiliation. While 63% of ruling party supporters view the institutional response positively, 51% of opposition voters (including supporters of PiS, Razem, and Konfederacja) hold a negative view of how the state handles aggression against Ukrainians.
