Poland public opinion: Reparations, security, and government approval

Recent public opinion polls in Poland reveal diverse perspectives on key national and international issues. Regarding historical grievances, approximately 73.9% of Poles believe Germany should pay war reparations for damages caused during World War II, with 47.7% specifically demanding full compensation for all material and human losses.

On the domestic political front, the government led by Donald Tusk has seen a slight recovery in approval ratings. According to CBOS, positive assessments of the Council of Ministers rose to 30%, a 6 percentage point increase from July, even as 51% of respondents remain critical.

Regarding international security and relations, 73.4% of Poles consider their country safe despite regional tensions and hybrid threats. However, views on the impact of Donald Trump’s presidency on Poland are divided; 53.4% of respondents view his influence on Polish interests and security negatively, while 36.3% view it positively. These assessments are heavily influenced by political affiliation, with government supporters and opposition voters holding starkly different views on Trump's impact.
