Poland promotes cancer prevention with lifestyle guidance and cervical screening
Polish oncologists outlined everyday habits that can lower the risk of cancer by up to 40 %. Their recommendations focus on regular physical activity, not smoking, moderate consumption, and routine health check‑ups.
In parallel, the Gmina Krośnice health authority launched a free cervical‑cancer screening programme for women aged 25 to 64. The programme, funded by the National Health Fund, offers HPV‑high‑risk testing every three years (or five years for standard cytology) without a referral. Tests can be booked online or in‑person at participating clinics in Milicz and surrounding districts, though the Lower Silesian region currently has about 18,700 open slots for HPV testing.
