Health authorities in Poland are emphasizing the importance of preventive screenings for cancer detection. The National Health Fund (NFZ) in Łódź has introduced modern methods for early cervical cancer detection, targeting women aged 25 to 64. The program offers two screening options: traditional cytology every three years and the HPV HR test with genotyping every five years. These services are free of charge and do not require a referral.
Additionally, breast cancer prevention programs provide free mammography for women aged 45 to 74 every two years. Women with a family history of breast cancer are eligible for annual screenings.
