Poland: Proposed 400 PLN tax relief for preventive health screenings

A proposal has emerged in Poland to introduce a 400 PLN personal income tax (PIT) relief for individuals who complete a designated preventive health screening plan. The concept, presented by Konrad Korbiński, aims to address low participation rates in national health programs.

Data from the Ministry of Health indicates significant gaps in screening coverage. As of August 2026, participation in breast cancer prevention programs stood at 32.77 percent, while HPV testing for cervical cancer prevention reached only 15.22 percent. Despite high availability of appointments for mammography and HPV tests, uptake remains a challenge for the healthcare system.

The proposed system would leverage existing digital infrastructure, such as the Internet Patient Account and National Health Fund (NFZ) data, to verify completed screenings and apply the tax benefit.
