Poland implements new regulations for scooters, rentals, and municipal services

Poland is undergoing several legislative shifts affecting public space, transport, and local administration. The Ministry of Infrastructure has announced new regulations for electric scooters, including requirements to park only in designated zones to improve pedestrian accessibility and stricter technical inspections to prevent unauthorized speed modifications.

In the housing sector, the Sejm has passed a law regulating short-term rentals. The new rules require mandatory registration of rental properties, the use of identification numbers in listings, and allow housing communities or municipalities to implement local bans on short-term hotel services. Penalties for non-compliance can reach 50,000 PLN.

Additionally, the Ministry of Interior and Administration is updating rules for municipal cemetery fees to provide a clearer legal basis for local governments. Meanwhile, upcoming changes to disability parking card procedures aim to simplify applications through digitalization and reduced bureaucracy by 2027.
