Poland: Public opinion divided amid political disputes
Recent polling data reveals a deeply divided Polish electorate regarding the ongoing political conflict between President Karol Nawrocki and Prime Minister Donald Tusk. An IBRiS poll shows public opinion is split almost equally, with 34.9% supporting the Prime Minister and 34.3% supporting the President. Demographic splits are notable: women tend to favor the Prime Minister, while men and younger voters lean toward the President.
Public approval for the President remains stable at 51%, while the Sejm (lower house) and Senate face significant criticism. Approximately 56% of respondents view the Sejm's activities negatively, and 42% view the Senate's performance unfavorably.
In terms of party preferences, United Surveys and other polls indicate a shifting landscape. Koalicja Obywatelska (KO) leads with approximately 28-30% support, followed by Prawo i Sprawiedliwość (PiS) at roughly 17-19%. Emerging political forces, such as Konfederacja Korony Polskiej led by Grzegorz Braun and Mateusz Morawiecki’s Rozwój Plus, are also gaining traction in recent surveys.
