Poland raises RTV subscription fees and penalties for non‑payment
Polish authorities are increasing the public radio‑television (RTV) subscription fee. The monthly charge for households with a TV will rise from 30.50 zł to 34.50 zł, while the fee for radio‑only devices will go from 9.50 zł to 10.80 zł. Annual payments remain an option with undisclosed discount details for longer periods.
The fee also applies to car radios, meaning virtually all drivers must pay the radio portion. Failure to pay incurs a fine equal to 30 times the monthly rate – up to 285 zł for a radio‑only device and 915 zł when both TV and radio are required. The new rates and penalties are set to take effect from the next fiscal year, with further increases hinted for 2028.
