Poland ramps up defense funding with tax breaks for mBank and Nitroerg

mBank CEO Cezary Kocik called for a government catalog of incentives that would exempt banks from the bank tax when financing qualified defence projects, arguing that the current tax makes credit to defence firms more expensive. He said the proposal could immediately lower financing costs for Polish arms manufacturers.

Finance Minister Andrzej Domański announced strong state support for defence‑related investments, highlighting Nitroerg's planned 300 million‑zł plant in Krupki Młyn to produce pentrite and hexogen. The project could receive up to 130 million zł in income‑tax relief, part of a broader strategy to build a full domestic value chain for defence, space and new‑technology sectors and to boost the Silesian economy with jobs and new competencies.
