Donald Tusk Signals NATO Joint Drills in Poland as Ukraine Conflict Escalates

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said a cease‑fire in Ukraine is unlikely and the war will probably continue into winter. He announced that Poland will host its first joint NATO exercises with French and British forces in the autumn, aimed at preparing the alliance for any security scenario against Russia and to provide guarantees for Ukraine and the region.

At the same time, German prosecutors have charged a former Ukrainian officer with sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipeline and other attacks on European energy infrastructure, alleging involvement of Ukrainian officials in sabotage of pipelines that supply Slovakia, Hungary and other countries. A separate bomb attack in Monaco injured Ukrainian businessman Vadym Jermolajev and his family; investigators have linked the case to members of Ukraine’s military intelligence.

European leaders, including EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, arrived in Kyiv to discuss Ukraine’s EU accession process and winter preparations, underscoring the broader security concerns across the continent.
