Poland reports high levels of chronic fatigue and sleep deprivation
A report by PZU Zdrowie, titled ‘Epidemia zmęczenia. Polacy nie mają czasu na zdrowie’, reveals that nearly 80% of Poles experienced chronic fatigue at least occasionally in the three months preceding the study. Approximately 28% of respondents reported feeling this fatigue frequently.
The study, conducted by SW Research on a representative sample of 1,001 adults, highlights significant trends in sleep and demographics. One in four respondents sleeps fewer than six hours per night, while 39% sleep between six and seven hours. Frequent fatigue is more prevalent among younger populations, affecting 35% of those aged 18–24 and 31% of those aged 25–29, compared to 22% of those aged 60 and older.
Gender differences were also noted, with 31% of women reporting frequent fatigue compared to 25% of men. While 64% of respondents rated their physical health as good or very good, mental wellbeing assessments varied by age; only 42% of young adults aged 18–24 reported positive mental wellbeing.
