Poland suffers multiple road accidents, injuries and traffic jams

A fatal collision on the road between Brynek and Połomia in the Tarnogórskie district left two adults dead – a 29‑year‑old woman and a 37‑year‑old man – while two young girls were hospitalized. The crash involving an Audi and a Toyota blocked the road for several hours.

In Świątkowie, near Bytów, a collision between a Toyota RAV4 and a Volkswagen Caddy resulted in one child being taken to hospital. Because the son of a local police officer was involved, the investigation was transferred to police from Lębork to ensure impartiality.

On Kopernika Street in Piotrków Trybunalski, a Dacia driver failed to yield to pedestrians at a marked crossing, striking a woman and a child who were then taken to hospital. The incident caused major congestion as police closed the street to secure the scene.

An accident on the Autostradowa Obwodnica Wrocław (AOW) caused a 12‑kilometre traffic jam. One person was injured and three lanes were blocked before traffic began to clear a few hours later.

Separately, works at the Poznań‑Krzesiny motorway interchange are proceeding ahead of schedule, with two key connections expected to reopen on 25 June and plans to open additional slip‑roads to improve traffic flow toward Katowice.
