Poland secures over €4 million EU funding for two medical innovation projects

Poland has received more than €4 million in European Union funding for two separate health‑care initiatives. The first, a cross‑border project with Ukraine, allocated €2.27 million to modernise laparoscopic surgery at the University Clinical Hospital in Rzeszów and the Lviv Regional Hospital for Veterans. Funding covered 90 % of the €2.04 million cost, providing new X‑ray, ultrasound and endoscopic equipment and a bilingual training manual.

The second initiative involves the Medical University of Łódź, which joined the EU‑backed THRIVE programme. The two‑year project received €2 million to accelerate commercialisation of medical innovations across a fourteen‑partner consortium from nine European countries, linking academia with industry and health‑care providers.
