Poland sees 19.7% jump in new car registrations, Kia Sportage tops SUV sales

In June 2026, Poland registered 66,443 new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, a 19.65% increase compared with the same month a year earlier and 19.10% higher than May. Year‑to‑date registrations reached 349,869, up 9.90% from the previous year.

Chinese manufacturers' share of the Polish market rose to a record 14.9% in June, up from 14.6% in May. Individual buyers accounted for 30.5% of all new passenger‑car registrations, while firms made up 69.5%.

Among private customers, the Kia Sportage was the clear bestseller, with 4,016 registrations in the first half of the year, surpassing corporate sales of the same model (3,812 units). The Toyota C‑HR (3,415) and Hyundai Tucson (3,343) followed, while other popular models included MG HS, Volkswagen T‑Roc and Dacia Duster. The surge reflects strong demand for SUVs and an overall robust auto market in Poland.
