Poland Sets Maximum Fuel Prices for June 23 Amid Stabilizing Oil Market

Poland's Ministry of Energy announced the maximum retail prices for gasoline and diesel that will apply on Tuesday, 23 June. Under the "Ceny Paliw Niżej" programme launched in March to soften the oil‑price shock caused by the Iran conflict, the caps are: gasoline 95 – 5.98 zł per litre, gasoline 98 – 6.69 zł per litre, and diesel – 6.11 zł per litre. The programme is being gradually phased out after the regional situation stabilised and the government decided not to extend the temporary fuel‑tax cut.

The price reductions follow a decline in crude‑oil prices after progress in US‑Iran peace talks, with West Texas Intermediate trading around $75 per barrel. The government publishes the caps each week via a notice on the Polish Monitor website.

These limits are intended to protect consumers while the market adjusts to lower oil prices.
