Polish municipalities roll out road, bridge and facility projects worth billions of złoty

Local governments across Poland have signed contracts and begun work on a series of infrastructure projects. In Sanok County, a new bridge over the Osława river and a 722‑metre stretch of county road R2259R will be rebuilt at a cost of 8.87 million zł, with completion slated for November 2027. The Gmina Nowiny is renovating the 446‑metre Chorzowska street in Sitkówka, funded by a 1.7 million zł grant from the Government Road Development Fund and a 820 thousand zł contribution from local businesses. The Łubnica bridge on provincial road 703 is undergoing a 813 thousand zł overhaul, expected to finish in November 2026. In Bielsko‑Biała, the North‑Central Bypass project received 320 million zł of EU funding; the total investment of 593.6 million zł aims to improve traffic flow and link to expressways S1 and S52 by 2029. A similar budget shift in Ostrołęka moved 17 million zł forward to accelerate the southern bypass. Water‑way flood‑protection works on the Biała river in the Bielsko region are being carried out for about 1.59 million zł, with a visit by Vice‑Minister Przemysław Koperski. In Białystok, three companies submitted bids for a new multi‑purpose sports hall costing up to 538 million zł, with the city allocating 420 million zł for construction. Other projects include the conversion of a historic water tower in Toruń into a community centre (≈4 million zł), the completion of a 44 million zł Notec bridge near Gościmiec, and the opening of a 442 million zł bypass around Pułtusk announced by Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Several municipalities are also planning new sports‑recreation complexes, such as a swimming‑pool centre in Plewiska, and residential developments like the 1.5 million zł Wodopój project in Gdańsk.
