Poland signs safety pacts with ORLEN and military to protect infrastructure and airspace

Polish oil refiner ORLEN and the State Fire Service signed a cooperation agreement to enhance public safety, protect critical infrastructure and improve response to industrial hazards. The pact provides for joint training, exercises, workshops and the exchange of expertise, with ORLEN offering access to its facilities for realistic drills. ORLEN President Ireneusz Fąfara said the partnership will translate into real safety for people, the environment and key installations, while Fire Service Commander Wojciech Kruczek highlighted the benefits for fire‑rescue readiness.

The Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PAŻP) and the Operational Command of the Armed Forces also signed an agreement to deepen information exchange on the country's airspace. The deal expands sharing of radar data and situational updates to boost awareness for both civilian and military flights, aiming to detect violations, unidentified aircraft and potential threats more quickly. The measure reflects heightened security concerns after recent incidents involving Russian missiles and drones near Poland's borders.
