Poland: Survey shows shifting attitudes toward military service

A recent survey conducted by IBRiS for Radio ZET reveals shifting attitudes among Poles regarding potential military conflict with Russia. The data indicates a significant generational divide in patriotic responses to the threat of war.

According to the findings, only nearly one-third of Poles expressed a willingness to take up arms to defend the country. In contrast, approximately 60 percent of respondents explicitly refused to go to the front lines, while 15 percent stated they were unaware of the specifics regarding a potential conflict.

The poll also noted political disparities, with 35 percent of the opposition expressing readiness to fight compared to 21 percent of the ruling camp. The results suggest that traditional notions of patriotic duty and military service are evolving among younger generations in the context of ongoing hybrid warfare.
