Poland to conduct military qualification for 245,000 citizens in 2027

The Polish Ministry of National Defence has announced that approximately 245,000 citizens will undergo military qualification in 2027. The process is scheduled to begin on January 15, with medical and military commissions operating from February 1 through April 30.

The primary group subject to qualification includes men born in 2008. Additionally, men born between 2003 and 2007 who have not yet been assigned a service category will also be required to appear. The mandate extends to specific groups of women who possess skills or education useful to the Armed Forces, such as those in medical, psychological, veterinary, IT, and linguistic fields, as well as students in these disciplines.

Regarding service categories, the military uses classifications A, B, D, and E. While category D indicates an individual is unfit for service during peacetime, it does not grant a total exemption from national defense duties; such individuals may still be called to active service during wartime if they possess relevant professional qualifications.
