Poland to implement EU pay‑transparency directive by June 2026
The European Union requires Poland to transpose the pay‑transparency directive by 7 June 2026. Under the rule, employers must disclose salary ranges in job ads, eliminate clauses that forbid workers from sharing their earnings, and report gender pay gaps. Companies will also have to justify any unexplained differences and, where gaps exceed set thresholds, conduct joint assessments with employee representatives.
Polish firms, especially small and medium‑sized enterprises, say they lack the tools, time and resources to comply. Many do not have clear pay structures, making the mandated reporting and salary‑range disclosures an administrative burden. National legislation to enact the EU rules is still pending, leaving employers with a short adjustment period and uncertainty over the detailed requirements.
