Poland to mandate first aid kits in new passenger cars
The Polish Ministry of Infrastructure is planning to introduce new regulations regarding vehicle equipment, which will make first aid kits mandatory for certain passenger cars. The proposed changes are set to take effect on April 1, 2027.
Crucially, this requirement will not apply to all vehicles currently on the road. The mandate is designed to target passenger cars registered for the first time after March 31, 2027. Owners of older, already registered vehicles will not be required to retroactively equip their cars with a first aid kit.
The Ministry intends to use the German DIN 13164 standard as a model for the required contents. This includes essential items such as individual dressings, sterile gauze compresses, triangular bandages, adhesive tape, and various other materials necessary for providing first aid.
