Poland to raise RTV licence fees and fines in 2027

The National Media Council (KRRiT) announced that Poland’s compulsory RTV licence fee will increase from January 2027. The monthly charge will rise to 10.80 zł for radio receivers (up from 9.50 zł) and to 34.50 zł for television or combined TV‑radio devices (up from 30.50 zł), amounting to an annual cost of 129.60 zł for radio and 414 zł for TV‑radio sets. Penalties for non‑payment will also be higher; a fine equal to 30 times the monthly fee will be 324 zł for radio and 1 035 zł for TV‑radio equipment. Controls are carried out by authorised Postal Service staff, who can verify the presence of receivers.

The fee applies to any household or business that possess a functioning radio or TV, regardless of actual usage, and must be registered within 14 days. Certain groups—people over 75, low‑earning retirees over 60, and individuals with specific disability or social‑care statuses—are exempt, though most exemptions require formal application. Current 2026 fees remain at 9.50 zł for radio and 30.50 zł for TV‑radio per month.
