Poland tourism: New regional vouchers and travel insurance guidance
Travelers in Poland are preparing for upcoming tourism initiatives and safety considerations. The Warmia-Masuria Tourist Voucher 2026 program is set to launch on September 29, offering a 300 PLN subsidy for overnight stays in the region. The program is available to seniors over 60, holders of the Large Family Card, and all other adult Polish citizens. The subsidy is provided as an electronic code to reduce accommodation bills for stays of at least two consecutive nights, provided reservations are made directly with participating facilities rather than through third-party booking services.
In conjunction with travel planning, experts emphasize the importance of comprehensive travel insurance. Key components of a robust policy include medical costs (KL) to cover doctor visits, hospitalization, and medical transport, which is not covered by the European Health Insurance Card (EKUZ). Additional recommended protections include personal accident insurance (NNW), personal liability (OC) for damages caused to third parties or hotels, and baggage insurance for loss or theft.
