Poland U-20 women's team eliminated from World Cup by Colombia

The Poland women's U-20 national football team has been eliminated from the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in the round of 16. Despite a dominant group stage where they secured nine points with wins over Argentina, Mexico, and Benin, the team suffered a 0-1 defeat against Colombia in Bielsko-Biała.

The match was decided in the 89th minute when a cross from Mariana Silva resulted in an own goal by Martyna Bartczak. Coach Marcin Kasprowicz noted that while the team controlled much of the game, they failed to capitalize on their opportunities, including a missed chance following a corner kick.

Poland's campaign was also impacted by the absence of key player Weronika Araśniewicz, who was sidelined with an ankle injury. Colombia advances to the quarter-finals to face Nigeria.
