Poland warns Russia may stage false‑flag drone attack using Ukrainian UAVs

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski told NATO and the public that Russia could try to provoke Poland by launching a false‑flag attack with Ukrainian drones. He said Moscow might use such drones to fabricate an incident and test the reaction of NATO members, urging President Vladimir Putin not to proceed.

Sikorski added that Russia currently lacks the capability for a direct large‑scale assault on NATO, but could employ provocations to gauge allied responses. He dismissed Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov’s claim that Russia poses no threat to Poland, noting that Ukraine’s successful defence limits Russian offensive capacity and prevents any broader attack on NATO states, including Poland. The minister also reaffirmed Poland’s reliance on U.S. military support and the presence of American troops on its soil.

These statements were made ahead of a NATO summit, with Sikorski saying public warnings are intended to deter any such Russian scheming.
