Poland widens e‑prescription use and seeks to simplify adult vaccinations

From 1 July 2026 Poland will allow patients to collect subsequent packages of a shared e‑prescription at any pharmacy that supports partial e‑prescription fulfilment, ending the previous rule that required the same pharmacy for all packages. The Ministry of Health expects the service to be available in about 60 % of pharmacies by the end of July, covering roughly 70 000 pharmacists.

At the same time, health experts note that adult vaccination rates are hindered by organisational, reimbursement and digital barriers. Professor Adam Antczak and Dr Mikołaj Konstanty argue that simplifying refund rules, expanding free vaccine lists for seniors and improving the Patient Account portal could increase uptake and reduce hospitalisations.
