Poland's A1 Highway Launches 26 LED Signage Panels

In early July 2026, the operator AmberOne equipped Poland's A1 motorway with 26 new LED traffic panels and variable‑message signs. Each display measures 2.56 m high by 4.8 m wide and is mounted about 4.5 m above the road, ensuring visibility for all lanes. The system, part of the "(Nie)bezpiecznie w korku" project initiated by the Polish Motor Union, delivers real‑time information on congestion, accidents and other road conditions, aiming to reduce dangerous incidents that frequently occur at the tail end of traffic jams.

The installation required more than 6 km of protective barriers and roughly 17 km of power and fiber‑optic cabling. The signs also support an emergency protocol: if queue times at tolls in Rusocin, Nowa Wieś and Nowe Marzy exceed 25 minutes, toll collection may be suspended and barriers raised, allowing free passage for up to 45 minutes during peak holiday weekends. The new infrastructure operates continuously to improve driver safety throughout the summer travel season.
