Poland's Centralny Port Komunikacyjny advances terminal and cargo projects

The state‑owned Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK) has opened a tender for the construction of the new national airport's passenger terminal. Five consortia, comprising 16 of Poland's largest construction firms, have 60 days to submit price and quality offers. The contract is expected to be signed in late 2026‑2027, with foundation work beginning in autumn and main construction targeted for completion in 2031 and certification in 2032. The planned terminal will cover about 450,000 m², feature 170 check‑in desks, extensive parking and baggage‑handling capacity, and is projected to create over 35,000 jobs.

Separately, CPK announced a design contract with Industria Project for the Cargo 3 area of the airport’s cargo zone. Valued at PLN 7 million (≈EUR 1.6 million), the project is part of three cargo zones slated to be operational by the end of 2031 and designed for future expansion, providing modern warehousing and handling facilities for both export and import freight.
