Poland's courier market expands amid e-commerce surge
The Polish courier, express, and parcel (KEP) market is experiencing significant growth, driven by a surge in e-commerce. According to data from Dun & Bradstreet, the number of KEP companies in Poland increased by nearly 400 in the first half of 2026, bringing the total to approximately 10,800 entities. Experts predict the number of firms could exceed 11,000 by the end of the year.
This expansion is largely characterized by a fragmented market consisting of many small businesses and sole proprietorships acting as subcontractors for larger operators. Poland now hosts about 18 percent of all KEP companies registered within the European Union.
Data from the Office of Electronic Communications (UKE) highlights the scale of the boom. In 2025, operators in Poland processed approximately 1.4 billion courier shipments, representing a 14 percent increase compared to the previous year. This growth aligns with rising retail sales via the internet, which saw a 12.3 percent year-on-year increase in June 2026.
