Poland's Crypto Bill Faces President's Veto Amid Zondacrypto Influence Claims

A draft law regulating crypto‑assets in Poland was criticized for being shaped by the exchange Zondacrypto. Reports show the firm consulted the Polish Bank Association (ZBP) and participated in closed meetings at the Ministry of Finance, resulting in some of its comments being incorporated into the legislation. The ZBP later denied that Zondacrypto was ever a formal member, while the Ministry refused to release the full list of meeting participants.

President Karol Nawrocki vetoed the bill on 11 June 2024, arguing it would be ineffective in protecting consumers. Prime Minister Donald Tusk responded on X, noting, “Brzmi niewiarygodnie, ale prezydent znów zawetował ustawę o kryptowalutach.
