Kosiniak-Kamysz meeting at Pentagon postponed at US request

The planned meeting in Washington between Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has been postponed. The Polish Ministry of National Defence stated the delay occurred at the “urgent request of the American side” to facilitate new security actions for NATO member states.

While the high-level meeting was rescheduled, Polish Deputy Ministers Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka and Paweł Zalewski will still travel to Washington to continue discussions. The talks are expected to focus on strengthening the US military presence in Poland, the establishment of a permanent US base, and the potential location of a PAC-3 missile service center.

The Pentagon characterized the postponement as being due to a “conflict of schedules.” The visit was a key component of ongoing efforts to solidify defense cooperation and long-term security arrangements between Poland and the United States.
