Poland's Finance Ministry to automate VAT returns using e‑Invoice system KSeF
The Polish Ministry of Finance announced plans to use the National e‑Invoice System (KSeF) to automatically generate VAT declarations and the JPK_V7 reporting file, modeling the service after the existing “Your e‑PIT” platform. Experts note that while the automation could ease bookkeeping for SMEs, the JPK_V7 format requires transaction details—such as GTU codes, related‑party flags, and split‑payment markers—that are not mandatory fields in KSeF invoices. Consequently, automatic data transfer may produce incomplete or erroneous tax reports without professional oversight.
At the recent Tax Council Congress, participants evaluated the first months of mandatory KSeF use, discussed practical challenges for small and medium‑size enterprises, and introduced the new JPK_KR_PD reporting structure. The congress also highlighted the tax administration’s shift toward real‑time data analytics and monitoring, as well as broader reforms including the global minimum tax, equity‑adjusted tax measures, and changes to property tax regulation.
