Polish authorities report that 194 people have been identified as victims of human‑trafficking operations in the country. Experts describe the trade as a highly organised, corporate‑style market that generates billions of dollars in hidden profits. The International Labour Organization estimates global illicit earnings at $236 billion a year, with traffickers earning roughly $10 000 per victim after expenses. In Poland, the crime spans forced prostitution, pornography, forced labour and other exploitative practices, and is driven by migration crises, armed conflict and labour‑market instability. Police officials stress that dismantling these networks requires tracing complex financial flows, identifying recruiters, transporters and money‑laundering managers, and targeting the hierarchical structures that profit from continual exploitation.
