Polish law‑enforcement crackdown Aug 2026 – updates

Overview

The summer‑long crackdown that began in early June has continued to widen its scope across Poland. Police have seized major drug caches – over 15 kg in Wejherowo, 210 kg in Wodzisław, more than 1.3 kg in Szczecin and additional batches in Łódź and Katowice – and confiscated firearms, ammunition and cash. Parallel sweeps dismantled car‑theft rings, illegal e‑bike operations, counterfeit clothing, a massive illegal‑gambling network (2,200 slot machines) and a cryptocurrency‑theft ring with FBI assistance. Border‑guard actions intercepted migrants and contraband. In late July, Warsaw’s “Poszukiwany” operation deployed 655 officers, checking 672 addresses and resulting in 89 arrests, including a Schengen‑listed suspect. Simultaneously, units in Legionowo detained dozens of wanted persons ranging from thieves to youth‑facility escapees. On 4 August, Polish and Czech forces jointly arrested 24 members of an international drug network linked to the “pseudokibice” scene, seizing hundreds of kilograms of cocaine, mephedrone, klefedron and steroids and destroying a klefedron lab in Belgium. This operation, supported by Europol and Dutch authorities, secured approximately 167 kg of klefedron. Early August raids also uncovered a cocaine‑smuggling ring across five voivodeships, seizing 50 kg of cocaine tied to a September 2025 Netherlands haul. In Szczecin, police seized over 1.3 kg of various substances, while a multi‑year probe in Nowa Dęba led to 62 charges against 11 suspects for narcotics trafficking and cultivation. In mid-August, a major operation in Szczecin targeting a logistics hub resulted in the seizure of over 450 kg of drugs, valued at approximately 10 million PLN. Additionally, police in the Sącz region dismantled a 3-CMC synthetic drug production and distribution network. In Lublin, prosecutors filed indictments against 14 individuals for an organized group that produced over one ton of amphetamine between 2019 and 2023.
