Poland's KRRiT Allocates Nearly 2 million Zł to Regional Public Radio, Details New RTV Fee Rules

The National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) decided to transfer close to 2 million złoty from the public broadcasting fee to three regional public‑radio operators: Polish Radio Pomorze i Kujawy (656,990 zł), Radio Łódź (641,730 zł) and Radio Olsztyn (631,540 zł). At the same meeting KRRiT rejected the 2025 public‑mission reports of TVP, Polskie Radio and two regional stations for non‑compliance with its 2025 programme‑financial plans.

For 2026 the RTV licence fee is set at 9.50 zł per month for a radio receiver and 30.50 zł for a television or a combined radio‑television set. Exemptions apply to seniors aged 60 or older whose pension does not exceed 4,781 zł per month (half the national average wage), as well as to persons aged 75, war veterans with disabilities and members of the first disability group. To qualify, seniors must apply at a post office with pension documentation; the exemption takes effect from the month after the application is processed.
