Poland's Ministry of Health to Allow Split e-Prescriptions from June 18

The Polish Ministry of Health is introducing a new e‑prescription feature that lets patients collect different parts of a prescription at separate pharmacies. The change eliminates the previous requirement to fulfil the entire prescription at a single location, easing access for those who travel or need medicines that are unavailable in one pharmacy.

The rollout begins with pilot pharmacies in Kalisz and Łódź and is scheduled to be available nationwide from 18 June. Participation is voluntary; pharmacies that apply will be connected to the e‑health system, allowing them to continue a prescription started elsewhere, provided both outlets use the updated platform.

Ministerial officials, including Mateusz Oczkowski, director of the drug policy department, highlighted that the system was successfully tested in the pilot cities and that a map of participating pharmacies will be published to guide patients. The reform aims to improve convenience for patients and streamline pharmacists’ work.
