Poland's nitrogen fertilizer prices edge down but stay elevated amid harvest outlook

In the months after the war in Iran disrupted global nitrogen fertilizer supplies, Polish prices have begun to stabilise. Average wholesale rates for sal ammoniac, Zaksan‑Megan and other products fell by 30‑120 zł per tonne, yet urea (Mocznik) rose by 30 zł/t and remains about 40 % above pre‑war levels. Imported urea also increased by 90 zł/t. The high cost of these inputs continues to pressure farm profitability.

At the same time, grain and rapeseed markets are preparing for the upcoming harvest. Analysts note improving field conditions in southern Europe, but warn that lower grain yields in Poland could keep domestic prices volatile. Early offers for new‑crop grain are close to current levels, while rapeseed prices may dip below the 500 €/t threshold if harvest progress falters. Both input costs and commodity prices will shape the profitability of Polish agriculture this season.
