Poland's opposition leaders eye joint list and parliamentary club shake‑up

Paweł Śliz confirmed that Poland has officially nominated him as a candidate for one of the four vice‑presidencies of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, with the vote expected on 8 July. While the role would raise Poland’s profile in the multilateral body, Śliz also noted that his name continues to surface as a potential candidate for the mayoralty of Kraków, though he has not made a final decision.

PSL vice‑premier Władysław Kosiniak‑Kamysz said that, if feasible, he would run on a joint electoral list with Szymon Hołownia, leader of the centrist Poland 2050 party. He criticized the current Poland 2050 leader Katarzyna Pełczyńska‑Nałęcz, arguing she aligns more closely with the left‑wing Partia Razem, and highlighted the poor poll standings of both PSL and Poland 2050. Internally, Hołownia is reportedly seeking to replace Śliz as head of the Poland 2050 parliamentary club, a move that requires unanimous approval from club members. The previous coalition “Third Way” dissolved in June 2025, leaving both parties below the electoral threshold.
