Polish folk festivals celebrate regional traditions in Orawa, Ostrołęka and Oleszna Podgórska
The 50th anniversary of the Pasterskie Echa festival was marked on Polana Stańcowa in Orawa, where local and guest folk groups performed traditional shepherd songs and instrumentals. The event included the competition "O pasterski zbyrcok", with diplomas presented by the mayor of Lipnica Wielka and cultural officials.
In Ostrołęka, the two‑day "Ostrołęckie Spotkania z Folklorem" featured concerts by regional dance and song ensembles, an outdoor parade, an ethnoporanek, and a market offering Kurpiowski specialties and crafts. Admission was free and the programme emphasized family‑friendly activities.
The inaugural "Podgórskie Głosy" folk‑song festival took place in Oleszna Podgórska, gathering choirs and bands from Lower Silesia and surrounding areas. Organisers highlighted the goal of preserving and promoting Slavic folk music, with performances, contests, and a village‑style picnic atmosphere.
