Poland gasoline and diesel prices approach 7‑8 zł per litre
Polish fuel stations are seeing gasoline (Pb95) prices near the symbolic 7 zł per litre mark and diesel prices edging past 8 zł per litre. Recent average figures show Pb95 at 7.51 zł/litre, the highest level since June 2022, while diesel has repeatedly broken the 8 zł threshold.
Analysts at Reflex forecast a modest rise next week – 4‑5 gr for gasoline and about 16 gr for diesel – pushing the expected averages to roughly 7.55 zł for Pb95 and 8.19 zł for diesel. Wholesale price data from 30 July confirm a synchronized uptick, with diesel wholesale rates rising by 37 zł/m³ (about 3.7 gr per litre).
Prime Minister Donald Tusk has signalled a possible return to regulated fuel prices, suggesting maximum caps of 7.46 zł for gasoline and 8.51 zł for diesel if the policy is re‑implemented. In response to the higher costs, some motorists are exploring cheaper alternatives such as rapeseed oil, priced around 4.5 zł per litre, although experts warn it cannot fully replace diesel in a 1:1 ratio.
