Poland's regional festivals bring organ adaptations and Bach masterpieces to churches

On Sunday, 26 July, the Evangelical Jesus Church in Cieszyn will host the second concert of this year's Wyższobramskie series, titled “Organy inaczej”. Organist Paweł Seligman will perform a programme that blends traditional organ repertoire with popular film music, following a brief performance by music school student Mateusz Białoskórski. The concert is part of a free‑admission festival that has run every two weeks in July and August since 2018, aimed at popularising organ music across the Cieszyn Silesia region.

Meanwhile, the Bach Festival in the Świdnica area continues with multiple free concerts in the municipalities of Walim and Jedlinie‑Zdrój. Scheduled performances include events on 27 July in Dziećmorowice, 30 July in Michałkowa, 1 August in Olszyńcu, and a special rendition of Bach’s “Great Mass in B‑minor” on 31 July at the former evangelical church in Jedlinie‑Zdrój, presented by Capelli Cracoviensis under conductor Jan Adamus. The series is supported by the Ministry of Culture and the National Institute of Music and Dance, and also features local food markets.
